Commission Showcases Value of California Avocados and Promotional Support at Key Foodservice Events

To showcase the value of the California Avocados brand and the customized promotional support the California Avocado Commission offers partners, the CAC foodservice team attended three highly recognized industry events in May. Each of the events provided the Commission with an opportunity to meet with foodservice marketers, culinary and purchasing professionals and encourage them to consider additional benefits of California avocados beyond just price. The team also shared how CAC’s impactful marketing and marketing services can benefit customers.

The National Restaurant Association’s Marketing Executive Group gathered more than 200 key decisions makers from across the nation in Chicago. As a silver sponsor, CAC was the only food sponsor with a presence during the three designated break periods with attendees enjoying sample servings of Koreatown California Avocado Kimchi Noodle Salad and California Avocado Key Lime Pie during the breaks. The Commission also facilitated a roundtable discussion that examined the benefits of chains’ Operations and Marketing personnel working together.

The Commission also was one of just 12 sponsors of the National Restaurant Association’s invite-only annual brunch, which was held at avec restaurant in Chicago. The event drew more than 100 foodservice professionals from various culinary, marketing and sourcing departments. To showcase California avocados, the brunch included California Avocado and Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Garlic Toum, Aleppo Chili and Pickled Lemons and Dill for the attendees.

The Commission also attended the Kinetic 12 Emergence Chain Restaurants event hosted in Denver. During the event, the CAC team met with approximately 22 chain purchasing directors, culinary directors and owners to showcase the benefits of California avocados and CAC’s robust promotional support. CAC also provided culinary ideation support for chains currently using California avocados. The event provided a key opportunity for the Commission to get in front of key produce purchasing decision makers representing regional chains.
