July 22, 2024 California Crop Update: As California avocado harvest rates continued beyond early and mid-season projections, CAC has engaged industry stakeholders to better understand the volume of fruit that remains to be harvested. The result of these discussions is consensus that the total 2024 California crop volume will be in excess of 300 million pounds. While it is difficult to pin down an exact total volume without a formal survey, utilizing the information received, along with internal crop estimating calculators, CAC was able to develop the projections provided below. Note: these tables and charts reflect actual volumes, adjusted for non-AMRIC handlers, through week ending 7/21/24 and updated projections for 7/22/24 through the remainder of the season.
