Pagiocerus frontalis (Pf) is a tiny weevil native to South America, Central America, Mexico and the Southeastern United States. Presumably, it does not occur naturally in California; the California Department of Food and Agriculture first identified it being present in San Diego County in 2010.

The Restore Grant, which provides up to $25,000 in funding for implementing conservation management practices, has been reopened by Zero Footprint. The grant focuses on practices that build up healthy soil and sequester carbon such as use of cover crops, mulching, hedgerow planting, range planting and prescribed grazing.

Verticillium Wilt (or Collapse) is caused by Verticillium dahliae, which can be present in the soil for years and spread through organic matter or soil that is moved elsewhere. The fungal infection can lead to a tree’s leaves can suddenly turn brown and die. Brown and gray-brown streaks also may be present on the trunk.
