Commission Mixes it Up with California Restaurateurs

  • Aug 14, 2023

To expand its target base of restaurant contacts and cement existing relationships that lead to future promotion opportunities, the California Avocado Commission sponsored and participated in two California Restaurant Association Regional Chapter Mixers in Orange County and Los Angeles County. The meetings gathered independent and chain restaurant owners, managers, chefs, produce distributors and suppliers in July at The Cliff Restaurant located in Laguna Beach and Tony P’s Dockside Grill in Marina del Rey.

The networking chapter mixer events are designed to bring together local restaurant association members and suppliers. As a sponsor of these events, the Commission was afforded the opportunity to bring its foodservice team to the event where they could network with the California-based representatives of independent and multi-unit restaurant brands while building relationships at the local market level. During the event, CAC educated attendees about the seasonality of California avocados and the value they bring to the menu. The Commission connected with more than 20 restaurant industry professionals and is now exploring promotion and education opportunities for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
