Free Grower Resources Available from the San Diego Resource Conservation District
The Resource Conservation District for San Diego County has a variety of free services available to California avocado growers in the Greater San Diego County RCD jurisdiction.
- Irrigation evaluations. Growers can request free irrigation evaluations and rebates for pump efficiency tests by completing a short online form.
- Soil sampling. To request a free nutrient analysis of grove soil, email ag@rcdsandiego.org.
- Assistance with a carbon farm plan. Growers can request help starting a carbon farm plan by completing an online form. The form asks growers to indicate current conservation practices and those they would like to implement, as well as what environmental concerns need to be addressed on the land.
- Establishing a pollinator habitat. Growers can obtain technical assistance and/or funding to start a pollinator habitat on their working land by filling out a brief online form.
