As reported on October 20, 2025, the California Avocado Commission General Election, underway at that time, was cancelled due to ballots being returned as undeliverable by the US Postal Service. All ballots that were cast as part of the original general election will not be counted.
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025 the Commission reissued new General Election ballots with different color coding to ensure only the second set of ballots are tallied.
Soon producers and handlers should receive an envelope with red font indicating the new ballot is enclosed. Only the ballots submitted from this new mailing will be tallied and counted toward the results of the General Election.
Producers and handlers should mail their ballots to the California Department of Food and Agriculture in the postage paid envelope provided. All ballots must be postmarked by November 28, 2025.
CDFA will announce the results of the election the first week of December, and new Board members will be seated at the CAC Board meeting on December 11, 2025.
