California Avocado Summer Menu Items Showcase Peak Season Availability
During peak season, the California Avocado Commission partners with select restaurant chains to showcase the Golden State fruit with unique menu applications that build awareness of the fruit’s availability and provide added value to the operator partner. These collaborative California avocado promotions help secure distribution of the fruit while encouraging demand with meals away from home that pique consumer interest.
Three of the chains CAC partnered with this season were Mixt/Split, NORMS and Super Duper Burger. All three of the chains prominently placed the California Avocados brand logo on their foodservice chain website menu page throughout their promotion period and hosted California avocado merchandise giveaways on their social media channels. Norms also featured the California Avocados brand logo on their in-location promotional menus. In addition, each chain shared an array of unique email blasts, in-app messages, Instagram posts/stories and Facebook posts that mentioned, tagged and promoted California avocados — expanding awareness of the fruit’s availability.
Eighteen Mixt and two Split locations in California showcased California avocados on the menu and across digital channels. The promotion, which began May 22, was extended beyond its original July 2 end date to July 31.
From May 24 – July 7, 23 NORMS Southern California locations promoted the Cali-Cado Benny. The new menu offering was showcased with a 15 -second paid radio spot and California Avocados brand highlights on the chain’s website homepage.
