Transition to Organic Webinar Series

The free Transition to Organic Webinar Series is designed to assist growers who are transitioning to organic crop production. The series is held every Wednesday at noon from January 14 – March 18, 2026. 

The 10-part series covers the following:

  • Farmer perspectives on transitioning to organic
  • Steps to organic certification
  • Organic markets and marketing
  • Allowed inputs and materials and biodiversity conservation
  • Building soil health in transitioning soils: soil life
  • Building soil health in transitioning soils: soil amendments
  • Building soil health in transitioning soils: cover crops
  • Managing pests and diseases organically using IPM
  • Organic weed management
  • Preparing for organic inspection

Sessions are led by a wide range of experts, including University of California scientists and California growers.

Growers can choose to attend all 10 sessions or select those most relevant to their needs and interests. The series is hosted by the Community Alliance with Family Farmers, UC Cooperative Extension and the UC Organic Agriculture Institute.
