The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program provides growers with up to $200,000 in grant funding to improve on-farm water and energy efficiency practices that reduce greenhouse gases. To assist growers in applying for SWEEP grants and make them aware of other CDFA Climate Smart Grant opportunities, the University of California Cooperative Extension and the Resource Conservation District of San Diego are hosting a free SWEEP Grant Opportunity Workshop. Interested parties can attend the workshop in person or online.

The workshop will cover:

  • A comprehensive review of the SWEEP program and other CDFA Climate Smart Grant programs
  • A review of irrigation systems and means of conserving water
  • The use of soil moisture sensors and the important role they play in irrigation

The workshop is free, but attendees must register in order to attend.
