The California Avocado Commission Board of Directors 2024 General Election is now underway with nominations being accepted through August 26, 2024. The election will seat one producer member for each of the five grower districts as well one handler. The newly elected members will serve a two-year term ending on October 31, 2026. As California avocado harvest rates continue to exceed early and mid-season projections, the California Avocado Commission has engaged with industry stakeholders to better understand the volume of fruit that remains to be harvested. The consensus from these discussions is that the total 2024 California crop volume will exceed 300 million pounds.
