The California Avocado Commission shared an op-ed published August 17 by Fox News, co-authored by Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) and chef and restaurateur Andrew Gruel, both partners of the California Avocado Commission who have been supporting CAC’s efforts to secure a seasonal tariff-rate quota on Mexican avocados.

The California Avocado Commission Board of Directors is seeking candidates for its alternate public member position. The term for this position will expire October 31, 2028. Interested candidates should submit their resumes by Monday, August 17.

California avocado growers released a video as part of a broad advocacy campaign urging federal officials to put American farmers first by adopting a seasonal import policy for Mexican avocados during California’s  marketing season, March to September.

Each year, the California Avocado Commission conducts a grower crop survey to collect data that helps the Commission more accurately predict the flow of avocados to market and fine tune the California crop estimate. Growers are encouraged to submit their crop estimates online.

The California Avocado Commission has redesigned the semi-monthly GreenSheet newsletter and will be using an upgraded email platform that allows readers to receive SMS text messages for time-sensitive alerts. In addition, the Commission will be able to customize GreenSheet alerts using grower and industry member zip codes to send targeted alerts and articles relevant to a specific growing region.
