The deadline to vote in the California Avocado Commission 2022 General Election is October 26, 2022. The results of the election will be announced on November 17.

The California Avocado Commission Board of Directors are hosting district meetings on September 13 (Ventura) and September 20 (Fallbrook) to directly connect with grower constituents, provide an update on Commission operations and gather input from growers.

The California Avocado Commission seeks candidates to fill a public member position on its Board of Directors. The position begins November 1, 2022, with the member serving for two years.

The California Avocado Commission is currently accepting nominations for the CAC Board of Directors. The nomination period for the 2022 General Election will end August 26, 2022.

The California Avocado Commission will host a Pine Tree Ranch Field Day on Tuesday, July 26 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. that will feature three informational sessions.

Utilizing the results of both the 2022 grower and handler mid-season surveys, CAC has updated the 2022 California crop estimate to 286 million pounds – which consists of 272 million pounds Hass, 8 million pounds Lamb-Hass, 5 million pounds GEM and 1 million pounds of other varieties.

Industry indicators have predicted a 306 million pound California avocado crop for 2022. To help the California Avocado Commission fine tune that estimate and better predict the harvest flow to market, California avocado growers are encouraged to complete CAC’s annual crop estimate survey.
