California Organic Products Advisory Committee Vacancies
The California Organic Products Advisory Committee (COPAC) is seeking to fill nine vacancies on its 30-person committee. COPAC advises the secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and the California State Organic Program concerning organic issues including enforcement, outreach and technical assistance.
COPAC is comprised of producers, processors, wholesale distributors, as well as representatives from the organic certifying, consumer, environmental, retail and technical sectors. Together, the COPAC members provide valuable insights that help the CDFA meet the needs of organic producers, growers, processors and consumers.
The vacancies are as follows:
- 1 technical representative
- 2 producer alternates
- 2 processor alternates
- 1 environmental representative alternate
- 2 technical representative alternates
- 1 consumer representative alternate
COPAC appointees serve three years from the date of appointment and may serve two consecutive terms. Former committee members may reapply for vacant seats after a one-year absence. Term limits do not apply to alternates.
