California Avocado Commission Receives Eighth Consecutive Produce Business Marketing Excellence Award

Ken Whitacre, publisher/director of Produce Business magazine, presented the California Avocado Commission’s marketing team with a Produce Business Marketing Excellence Award for 2018. The presentation took place on October 19 at the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Fresh Summit in Anaheim, California.

The Commission’s marketing team received the award for its influencer marketing campaign, which includes blogger advocates, social influencers, “Mythbusters” videos, registered dietitian nutritionists, retail dietitians and integrated outreach. The campaign, which secured nearly 64 million impressions between June 2018 and April 2019, was designed to increase awareness of the California avocado season and encourage consumers to seek out the fruit for purchase.

This marks the eighth year in a row that the Commission has earned this honor.
