California Avocado Commission Issues RFP to Modernize Avocado Production Cost Studies
The California Avocado Commission’s (CAC) Production Research Committee is seeking proposals for Avocado Establishment and Production Costs and Profitability Analysis Studies. The Committee is seeking proposals that will modernize and update the Avocado Production Cost Studies. Historically, these studies have been developed as four separate studies, but the Commission seeks to modernize these studies into one core cost analysis.
The goals of this project are:
- Develop current avocado establishment and production costs guides for conventional and organic avocados across the five major avocado producing counties
- Develop a grower-friendly tool that can be integrated into CAC’s avocado grower website and used to develop farm-specific budgets
- Participate in grower outreach and education concerning the production cost studies (preferably an article for From the Grove.
